creatures living their best lives

Many different things have inspired me throughout my life, changing over time. But a few interests never changed, such as my love for nature and the creatures that live in our world. But, besides real animals I’ve also always loved mythical creatures and beasts of folklore. These different ideas for living things and imaginary led me to eventually try and create my own. This idea of making my own beasts then ended up leading me to take AP art.

I make art to express the different ideas that pop out of my head so that I don’t end up forgetting them. This time gives me a calm period so that I can just relax and create. In the future I plan to use art to help me clear my mind whenever I’m stressed or worried about something. I value art in my life because it has always been something I leaned on to help me clear my mind when I needed a breath of fresh air, time to relax, or just for fun.

When I first started at the High school I never expected myself to join ceramics, I just never saw myself making things with clay. But, that all flipped on its head when I joined ceramics 1 due to the fact that I needed another class. I fell in love with clay on the very first day. So, my favorite art teacher has to be Ms. McCauley because she has always been supportive and helpful to me on my clay journey.
